An Open Letter from the President of M.S.T. Co.
April 10, 2010
Dear Reader,
There's nothing quite like a blank sheet of paper...with a bunch of wires and functions and images bolted onto it. The possibilities are endless, and that's kind of how I like to think of this website. So that's what it will be, an infinite possibility.
Writing is a tough business. As an author, I hardly make enough money to buy toast and I have to get my raspberry jam in those little packets from the free breakfasts at hotels I can't afford to stay in.
About six years ago today [or six years ago and one day tomorrow…depending on when you read this] I rolled up my sleeves and socks, rolled down my turtle neck, and started this company to make some money [and also out of the sheer fulfillment of sitting all day and wiggling my fingers].
As a successful typist, I now type contemporary stories about other, more-talented characters. [Should read: As a mediocre typist, I usually type anything I can get my mittens on to buy more toast, and eventually, my own bottle of raspberry jam].
I currently have six sherpas on staff and I have no idea why...yet.
Eventually I might consider growing the business, maybe adding another typist or even diversifying by selling very, very short stories on coffee mugs and t-shirts. For now, I will continue my strategy of finding characters with interesting stories and processing their words for profit. Because that's where the value lies.
Best Regards,
Michael Sasi, El Presidente
